What is the minimum age requirement to hire a car?

You must be 21 years of age and hold a full, current drivers licence - no P plates

An age surcharge of $20 per day will apply to all drivers under 25 years

Please note that you must be 25 or above to hire a Large 4WD


Can I pick up and drop off at Broome Airport?

Yes - If you are arriving on an incoming flight, we are located just a 200m walk from the arrival's terminal on MacPherson Street just outside the main entrance gates of Broome International Airport.


Do you deliver vehicles?

Yes – we can deliver a vehicle to your hotel in Broome for a fee of $20

Delivery times are depending on availability of staff, please call us to discuss.


Do you offer a collection service?

Yes – We offer a complimentary collection service from hotels in Broome - we meet you at the reception of your accommodation and bring you to our office to complete your contract.


Do I need to pay a deposit to make a booking?

Yes – we require a 20% deposit when securing a booking and the balance is payable when the vehicle is collected.


What time is your office open?

We are open 0800 - 1700 Sunday-Monday. Shorter hours may apply on Public Holidays and during Wet Season.


My flight comes in late, do you have an after hours service?

If your flight arrives or leaves outside office hours, please let us know and we can offer this service.

This must be arranged 24 hours prior to arrival to ensure paperwork is done.


Is there a charge for additional drivers?

No - You can add as many drivers as you like for no additional charge, as long as all drivers are over 25 years of age.

If additional drivers are aged between 21 and 25, an age surcharge of $20 per day will apply.


What kind of child seats do you have to rent?

We have forward facing child seats, rear facing child seats and booster seats (with or without harnesses available for $8.50 per day

Please note, it remains the responsibility of the hirer to ensure they have the correct seat for their child and that it has been installed properly.


Do I need to return the car full of fuel?

Yes – you will receive the vehicle full of fuel, so please return the vehicle refueled.

If you are unable or do not want to refuel, we charge $5 per litre


Are there restrictions on where Broome Broome vehicles can go?

Each class of vehicle has a permitted area of use. Please refer to our Helpful Information page.

All Broome Broome Car Rental fleet are not available to drive further south than 80 Mile Beach or outside the Kimberley region only.

Driving outside permitted areas of use voids all insurances.

What payment types do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard or cash. Sorry, we do not accept AMEX


Do I need to do a security bond?

Yes - we require a $500 pre-authorisation bond for all cars and a $250 pre-authorisation on scooters. 

This can be processed on a Visa or Mastercard only, you cannot pay for the bond in cash or on an EFTPOS card.


What is VRRF?

VRRF stands for ‘Vehicle Registration Recovery Fee’. This is an additional daily charge and is the cost of registering and licencing the vehicle.


What is the merchant surcharge?

This is a fee added if paying for your rental by Credit/Debit Card. The amount charged is 1.9%


What if the road I want to travel on is closed?

Unfortunately, we do not permit our vehicles to be driven on a closed road.

If a road is closed and you cancel your reservation, the standard cancellation policy still applies.


I need to cancel my reservation, what is the cancellation policy?

More than 30 days prior - Refund of deposit
Within 7 to 30 days Prior - Loss of the deposit
Within 7 days of hire - 50% of the rental
Less than 24hours - Total amount of hire

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds when you return a vehicle early, so please ensure you book the minimum time you need the vehicle.


Are Broome Broome vehicles insured?

Yes - All vehicles are fully insured for fire, theft, single and multiple vehicle accident damage. There is an insurance excess applicable to every hire - This means that if the vehicle sustains any damage whilst on hire, the hirer is responsible for the cost of repair up to the amount of the excess.

There is an option to reduce the insurance excess on the vehicle by paying an excess reduction fee. The insurance excess and the reduction fee vary according to the type of vehicle.
