What is the minimum age requirement to hire a car?

You must be 21 years of age and hold a full, current driver's licence (no P-plates).
An age surcharge of $20 per day applies to drivers under 25.
You must be 25 or older to hire a Large 4WD.


Can I pick up and drop off at Broome Airport?

Yes. We are located just a 200m walk from the Arrivals Terminal on MacPherson Street, just outside the main entrance gates of Broome International Airport.

 

Do you deliver vehicles?

Yes – we can deliver a vehicle to your hotel in Broome for a $20 fee.
Delivery times depend on staff availability. Please call us to confirm.

 

Do you offer a collection service?

Yes – we offer a complimentary collection service from hotels in Broome.
We meet at the reception of your accommodation and bring you to our office to complete your contract.


Do I need to pay a deposit to make a booking?

Yes – a 20% deposit is required to secure your booking.
The balance is payable when you collect the vehicle.

 

What payment types do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and cash.
Sorry, we do not accept AMEX.

 

Do I need to pay a security bond?

Yes – a $500 pre-authorisation bond is required for all cars and scooters.
Bonds must be processed on a Visa or Mastercard and cannot be paid in cash or by card.


Are Broome Broome vehicles insured?

Yes – all vehicles are fully insured for fire, theft, and accident damage.
An insurance excess applies to every hire. If the vehicle is damaged, the hirer is responsible for costs up to the excess amount.
You may reduce the excess by paying an excess reduction fee. Fees and excesses vary by vehicle type.

What are your office hours?

We are open 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Sunday.
Shorter hours may apply on Public Holidays and during the Wet Season.

 

Do you have an after-hours service?

Yes – if your flight arrives or departs outside office hours, we can arrange after-hours service.
This must be organised at least 24 hours in advance to allow us to prepare the paperwork.

 

Is there a charge for additional drivers?

No – additional drivers aged 25+ are free.
Drivers aged 21–25 can be added, but an age surcharge of $20 per day applies.

 

What kind of child seats do you have available?

We offer the following child seats for $8.50 per day:
• Rear-facing seats
• Forward-facing seats
• Booster seats (with or without harness)

The hirer is responsible for ensuring the correct seat is selected and properly installed.


Do I need to return the car full of fuel?

Yes – vehicles are supplied full of fuel and must be returned full.
If not refuelled, a charge of $5 per litre applies.

 

Are there restrictions on where Broome Broome vehicles can go?

Yes. Each vehicle class has a permitted area of use.
Vehicles are not permitted south of 80 Mile Beach or outside the Kimberley region.
Driving outside permitted areas voids all insurance.

What is VRRF?

VRRF stands for Vehicle Registration Recovery Fee. It is a daily fee that covers the cost of registering and licensing the vehicle.

 

What is the merchant surcharge?

A 1.9% merchant fee applies to all Credit/Debit Card payments.

 

What if the road I want to travel on is closed?

Vehicles cannot be driven on closed roads.
If a road closure affects your plans and you cancel, the standard cancellation policy applies.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

More than 30 days before hire: Full refund of deposit
7–30 days before hire: Deposit forfeited
Within 7 days of hire: 50% of rental payable
Less than 24 hours before hire: Full rental payable

No refunds apply for early returns. Please book the minimum time you need.
